This month, several reports in the Italian media have been claiming that Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino.
It’s recently been said that there’s a ‘strong interest’ from Spurs in signing the player, who’s valued by his club at €40m.
Now as Gianluca Di Marzio features some quotes from Bongiorno speaking to Sport Mediaset, there’s actually a very interesting message for Tottenham and other English clubs.
The player admitted that while Premier League clubs chase him, he’s actually keen on playing there one day.
“The Premier League is a league that particularly appeals to me because there are very strong teams and players, with whom I can continue to work and grow. However, I also feel good in Italy, so we will see what choices to make in the future.”
Those are encouraging claims from the player, because when Inter Milan dedicated website FCInterNews recently talked about his wish, it had been claimed that the Nerazzurri could have an advantage over Tottenham because of his wish to stay in Italy.
With him keen on moving to England, it remains to be seen if Tottenham will try the signing. It’s also been said that Spurs are having second thoughts about it, so it seems they’ll leave the decision for a later stage, perhaps once they have some departures from the squad.
