With the United States set for their first game of the World Cup on Monday, it’s normal to see the Italian media talking about Tottenham target Weston McKennie.
The American midfielder was linked with a move to Spurs last summer, and while no concrete bid was made, the interest, from both Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte, has remained there.
With the Italian manager wanting some more strength in depth at Tottenham these days, someone like the Juventus player could go a long way to helping the London club remain in the top four during the second half of the season.
The 24-year-old is a regular starter in Italy under Max Allegri these days, but that doesn’t mean the Serie A side will hold onto him at all costs.
This comes from Calciomercato, who write on Monday that Juventus ‘would not close the doors to offers exceeding €25-30m’.
The Premier League would be expected to be his next destination, where there is an ‘obsession from Fabio Paratici and also Antonio Conte, which is why ‘Tottenham remain attentive to the situation even if there have been no concrete moves’.
Perhaps a good World Cup could push Tottenham into putting an offer on the table, which Juventus would seemingly welcome with open arms if it meets their criteria.
