Beşiktaş are working on a deal to sign Wolves defender Emmanuel Agbadou in the winter market.

On January 12th, journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu reported the Ivory Coast international has agreed terms with Beşiktaş. Four days later, the player’s agent arrived in Istanbul.

At the weekend, Sabah explained Beşiktaş’ ongoing pursuit of the Wolves player is in the final stages. Club president Serdal Adalı also confirmed an offer had been submitted.

A fresh report from Wednesday’s edition of Sabah covers the latest on the Turkish club’s efforts to sign the 28-year-old.

The Black Eagles have been working on both incoming transfers and exits in this window. For the former, the focus is on the centre-back. Their manager, Sergen Yalçın, has identified him as their main target for January.

According to the newspaper, Agbadou is now hours away from arriving in Istanbul after the Süper Lig side pushed hard to sign him. They are securing him on loan with a €15m option.

Sabah report Rob Edwards’ side and Beşiktaş are in the final stages of negotiations. There’s total optimism of concluding this operation, and the Wolves player is set to arrive today or tomorrow.

In fact, the Ivorian has ‘packed his bags’ and started preparing to make a trip to Turkey. He has an agreement in place for a contract until 2029. It can only come into effect if Beşiktaş were to buy him.

Agbadou is only waiting for the Premier League club to find an agreement with Beşiktaş. He should receive the green light in the next few hours so that the defender can travel.

Then, as is the tradition, the Turkish media will find out the specific flight and inform supporters, who will then head to the airport to provide a welcome reception.

The central defender played 1,194 minutes from 16 matches for Wolves this season.
