Tottenham Hotspur‘s Alfie Dorrington should complete a permanent move to Pogoń Szczecin barring any setbacks.
The centre-back climbed through the ranks of Spurs’ academy and made his first team debut in December 2024. He came off the bench in the Premier League side’s 5-0 league win over Southampton.
That was his only senior appearance for Tottenham, who sent him on loan to Aberdeen and Salford City for the last 18 months.
Tottenham to earn fee
The 21-year-old has a contract until 2029 but is on the verge of leaving the north London club permanently this summer.
Pogoń SportNet, an outlet focusing their coverage on the Polish club, state Pogoń Szczecin have agreed terms with Spurs. There’s no mention of a transfer fee.
Meczyki.pl journalist Tomasz Włodarczyk stated the Ekstraklasa side won’t pay a fee to Tottenham Hotspur and have agreed on a percentage for a future sale.
Pogoń Szczecin owner Alex Haditaghi wasn’t happy with this claim and has corrected the journalist.
Owner reveals details of Tottenham deal
Alex Haditaghi says the documents exchanged with Roberto De Zerbi’s side are to sign Alfie Dorrington for a fee plus a sell-on clause. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal this before deleting the post.
“Another completely fabricated story from Tomasz Włodarczyk. Allegedly, Tomasz knows more about this transfer than the person negotiating, approving, and signing the documents,” he said.
“I must be signing the wrong contracts, because the documents before me clearly include a transfer fee and a significant financial package, as well as a significant sell-on clause. Next time, maybe I should call Tomasz before signing anything. He clearly has access to a more detailed version of our contracts than we do.
“Tomasz, please get your facts straight. Credibility is built over years and lost with a few made-up stories!”
Pogoń SportNet claims that according to their information, the defender is expected to arrive in Szczecin for his medical.
