Liverpool star Luis Díaz has found himself the subject of big criticism in his native Colombia, where journalists Luis Arturo Henao and Jorge Bermúdez are less than impressed with his current displays.
The pair have been speaking about the Liverpool man on EPSN’s F90, relayed by Antena 2, when they expressed their opinions on the winger.
Díaz has retuned to the Liverpool first team on a full-time basis this season after missing the majority of last season with a series of injuries.
He’s made himself felt from the off, with several impressive displays both as a starter and off the bench and a determined air about him as he looks to make up for lost time.
He’s very much played his part in a strong start to the campaign for Liverpool as a result, continuing where he left off before injuries hampered things last season.
That continued this week in the win over LASK in the Europa League, helping his side battle back from a goal down to secure an eventual 3-1 win.
That continued his solid return to life at his club, leading to questions of why he isn’t doing that on the international stage.
“Luis Díaz is overconfident, he is overacting,” Henao is quoted as saying.
“I see that in Liverpool, he gives it away, he lets it go; in Colombia, no,” Bermúdez added.
“He holds it, they steal it. He has a passing option and prefers to kick at the goal, he is not functional and individualistic.”
