Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumaré is in his final year of contract, and his long-term future remains uncertain. He’s recently been linked to a few clubs, including AS Roma and Sevilla.
On Monday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Serie A side are considering signing him in the winter market. Two days ago, AS stated Sevilla will try to take him for free in January.
We explained it’s unlikely that Leicester will terminate the midfielder’s contract mid-way through the season. Vamos Mi Sevilla FC back it up in their latest report on the 26-year-old, titled: ‘Sevilla set day for Soumaré’s signing’.
The Frenchman spent the 2023/24 season on loan with the Andalusian club and featured regularly. Their failure to find a new agreement with the Foxes saw him return to the King Power Stadium.
Sevilla intend to sign him again and sources have informed the outlet that they want to the Leicester player for free next summer.
Roma and AS Monaco are also said to have shown interest in Soumaré. The report states Sevilla ‘would count on the player’s interest’, who was impressed with his loan stay with them.
A January move hasn’t been completely ruled out. If Nemanja Gudelj were to leave Sevilla and Soumaré’s price drops to €2-3m, then it’s possible for them to sign the later.
