There’s a claim in the Turkish media Trabzonspor are closing in on Crystal Palace midfielder Daichi Kamada.

Only a few days ago we covered reports the Super Lig side were in transfer talks to sign the Japan international as they look to strengthen their midfield. Trabzonspor have already turned to England this summer after they finally signed Paul Onuachu from Southampton.

Gune Bakis today report on Trabzonspor’s pursuit for the Crystal Palace player, and they say transfer talks are ongoing.

It’s claimed the Black Sea club are close to reaching an agreement with the Premier League side, but the player’s decision will be decisive. With John Lundstram joining Hull City on loan for the season, the Trabzon side are looking to add midfielders to their squad.

However, it seems the Turkish press have got ahead of themselves and are again overly optimistic Kamada will be sold. Despite his contract situation it’s likely the Eagles will want to keep hold of Kamada or want more money than will be on offer.

Kamada made 43 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring two goals. He’s contracted to the Eagles until June 2026.
