Argentine outlet Soy del Millo, through journalist Hernán Castillo, reports that people close to Julio Soler feel optimistic about a move away from Bournemouth and towards River Plate.
Castillo claims that River are now preparing a formal offer after weeks of enquiries and incremental advances, signalling that the club have moved beyond exploratory talks and are ready to present a concrete proposal for the left-back.
The Premier League side remain central to the negotiation. Bournemouth signed Soler only a few months ago, investing a significant fee and securing him on a contract valid until June 2029.
His market valuation stands at €8m, and any loan would almost certainly need an option to buy attached – the structure River continue to favour. However, local reporting adds that River may consider negotiating for a percentage of the rights if that helps reduce the total cost.
Castillo says River’s pursuit intensified after Milton Casco departed, which left Marcelo Gallardo without a natural left-back ahead of the new season.
The coach has been pushing for reinforcements before pre-season begins on 20 December, and Soler quickly emerged as the number-one target.
The player’s camp reportedly view the possible move positively, believing he may gain more minutes and responsibility in Buenos Aires.
Bournemouth have not given any indication regarding their stance on a permanent exit, and previous reports suggested they prefer to keep Soler in Europe.
The next step will depend on how the Premier League club evaluate River’s upcoming offer and whether the terms proposed align with Bournemouth’s long-term plan for the Argentine defender.
