Earlier on Monday, we covered claims from France regarding Nottingham Forest’s attempts to sign Jonathan Panzo.

The Championship club have been busy under manager Steve Cooper this month, with defenders Richie Laryea and Steve Cook arriving from Toronto and Bournemouth, respectively.

Keinan Davis has also been signed on loan from Aston Villa, but they also wanted to add the Dijon defender.

No details of the approach were shared, but it was made clear the effort had been rejected, although it was thought negotiations could continue.

It would appear that’s been the case, and with some success, and Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna reports there’s optimism a deal can be found in the final hours of the January window.

The transfer is ‘progressing’ for Nottingham Forest, and ‘only a few details remain’ in the way of the club agreeing a deal with Dijon. Now it will be a rush to make sure those details are sorted out, and a deal can get across the line before the window slams shut.
