A few weeks ago, we relayed a claim from AS that two clubs were after Watford’s Javi Gracia for next season, and both based in the same city: Real Betis and Sevilla.

Then came an article in Estadio Deportivo over the weekend stating it wasn’t ‘impossible’ for the Spanish manager to leave Vicarage Road this summer even if he wasn’t ‘actively’ looking for a way out.

Well, fast forward to Tuesday, and Radio Marca Sevilla believe there is an ‘open path’ for Monchi to try and bring the Watford man back to Spain.

They claim the club chief is ‘evaluating the possibility of engaging in negotiations’ with the Hornets to try and sign their manager, even if they are fully aware within the La Liga side that doing so would be ‘very complicated’.

As was previously reported, the Spaniard’s four-year contract is the main issue, as manoeuvring around (or through) it would require an important financial effort after Watford’s positive season under Gracia.

Other names Monchi is considering are Rudi Garcia, who is leaving Marseille, Barcelona’s Ernesto Valverde and former Spain national team manager Julen Lopetegui.
