Earlier today we brought you an update on the future of Henry Onyekuru and that Monaco were now interested in his services.

The report suggested they could pay a €17m fee for the Nigerian and that he has already agreed on a deal with the club, with him even going as far as to tell teammates he was moving to France.

Well, it seems he was right to do so with things moving at a rapid pace on that front. L’Equipe now report that Monaco have reached an agreement with Everton for the winger.

The newspaper says the two clubs have agreed on a €15m fee for the Nigerian and he will head to Monaco today for his medical.

They further back up the claims that he’s already agreed on a deal with the Ligue 1 side and will ‘commit to a long-term contract’.

And it’s probably a deal that makes sense for all parties. There was clearly no place for Onyekuru at Everton, and they’ve managed to get a deal that suits them.

The Blues are making a profit on a player that’s never played for them and raising funds that can be better spent elsewhere, even if the fee seems a little low.
