On Tuesday, Gazeta Esportiva explained that Chelsea are still talking to Gabriel Moscardo’s entourage over a potential deal.
Later that day, journalist Bruno Andrade reported the Blues’ offer of €21m plus €4m is still on the table even though Corinthians have demanded €30m for the player.
Wednesday’s edition of Sport talks about Chelsea’s interest, when explaining Barcelona’s desire to sign the 17-year-old.
The midfielder came up through the ranks of the Brazilian club’s youth system and made his way to their first team earlier this year. Since then, he has drawn attention from several clubs and his profile now pleases Barca sporting director Deco.
Sport also state the youngster’s market value has increased by 600% but that hasn’t stopped Chelsea from taking the necessary action to secure his services.
It’s said Mauricio Pochettino’s side have already submitted two offers and ‘will pay the €30m’ requested by Corinthians for the teenager.
They have overtaken Barcelona and are ‘now one step away’ from signing Moscardo. In fact, the report states Chelsea are ‘matter of hours or days’ away from reaching an agreement with the South American club.
The transfer window has closed in England, and Sport say Chelsea’s plan is to agree a deal with Corinthians and let Moscardo continue with them until June 2024.
Despite Barca’s interest, Chelsea are set to win the race to sign Moscardo and the newspaper says a new twist is ‘unfeasible’.
