Christian Nørgaard signed a new deal at Brentford some days ago.
He has had an impressive season at the London side, scoring four times and assisting twice. On top of that, he has captained the team every time he has featured in the Premier League.
The Dane is now an experienced leader for the Bees and manager Thomas Frank spoke to Campo about the midfielder, explaining his qualities and strengths.
He’s continually impressed by Nørgaard’s leadership and had big praise for the 31-year-old.
He said: “He is a super leader. He is one of the best leaders I have worked with, and he is crucial to our culture.”
Frank also spoke of why the midfielder is a unique personality in the Brentford side and revealed a reason for that.
He claimed: “Christian is quite unique because he has the ability to push his teammates in training. He doesn’t spare anyone.
“Are you the youngest or the oldest, or the best or the worst. It doesn’t matter. If you don’t work hard enough, you’ll know it.”
The praise for Nørgaard didn’t end there as Frank also spoke of how the Denmark international has a very mature understanding of football and has had that for a while.
“He just has a wildly natural understanding of football, management and culture, and he has some good values on and off the pitch.
“He is just good, and he has matured. He probably plays some of the best football he has done in his career.”
The ex-Fiorentina man joined Brentford in 2019 and since then, he has slowly become a key player for the club, having also fought back from a serious ankle injury back in 2021.
Frank and Nørgaard have known each other since their time together at Brondby. Now in London, it clearly seems as if the player is an embodiment of his manager’s ideals. Partly due to that, him signing a new deal at Brentford will be very important for the club.
