Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia have been part of Manchester United’s ‘bomb squad’ this summer.

Rashford joined Barcelona on loan and Garnacho is off to Chelsea. Real Betis made advances to sign Antony before the move stalled after Friday’s drama [read more on that here]. Elche are working to sign Malacia, while Sancho has been linked to a few clubs so far.

Sancho, Malacia and Antony haven’t trained with the Red Devils’ first team and have to find a new club if they wish to play regularly at least before the end of this year.

Sport Mediaset suggest Sancho doesn’t seem to have a plan of playing again in 2025. They say he could stay at Old Trafford beyond the summer window, despite being aware he would have little to no chance of playing under Ruben Amorim.

AS Roma have already tried to sign him earlier this window and their manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, wasn’t impressed by the Sancho situation.

Speaking to the media on Friday, relayed by TuttoMercatoWeb, he said: “Call him if you have his number… (laughs, ed.) You know everything, I don’t know what the margins are now. We don’t have to beg anyone, ever: it applies to everyone, Sancho is a possibility, but we are a possibility for him. If they don’t think so, he’ll stay where he is.”

Sport Mediaset say the manager’s comments were the ‘final nail in the coffin’ for Sancho, but the Serie A side have other plans.

It’s claimed Roma aren’t giving up and are ‘making one last push’ to sign him. They will contact his agent in the next few hours.

Contact will be made to find out if Gasperini’s comment from Friday has ‘stirred any spark in his [Sancho’s] pride and motivation’.

Considering the 25-year-old hasn’t shown [at least that’s how it looks like] any urgency to leave Manchester United, Gasperini’s words are unlikely to impact him.

If Sancho were to snub Roma, their sporting director, Frederic Massara, will immediately make a bid for Chelsea’s Tyrique George.
