Starting the UEFA Nations League final in midfield alongside Paul Pogba, Aurélien Tchouaméni is quickly becoming a favourite of Didier Deschamps’.

The midfielder played the entire game, and has quickly amassed five caps since the start of September for his country.

This all stems from his great performances with AS Monaco, which not only caught the eye of the France national team manager, but those of bigger clubs around Europe, such as Liverpool and Chelsea.

The Premier League pair have been mentioned alongside the midfielder’s name for quite some time, but Tuttosport in Italy claim the Blues might have taken an extra step, potentially scuppering Juventus’ plans for the player too.

The newspaper explain the Serie A side’s contacts for the player are continuing and the path to the player ‘is hot’, but there remains competition from English sides, with ‘one above all’, and that is Chelsea.

That’s because the Blues are ‘signalled as being in ascent’ for the Frenchman, while the principality side are ‘waiting to count and weigh up offers between January and June’, with a value of at least €40m expected from their part.

Whether Chelsea make a move in the coming months, however, remains to be seen, and a lot could depend on how desperate Thomas Tuchel is for a new midfielder.
