There appears to be a certain fear in the Netherlands that Arne Slot will leave Feyenoord at the end of the season amid an interest from Tottenham.
Spurs are in dire need of a new manager, as the Cristian Stellini stopgap experiment is clearly not working, which is why there are more and more calls for the Italian to follow Antonio Conte out of the club.
The problem is that if they want Slot, Tottenham will have to wait until the end of the season, and Alireza Jahanbakhsh really hopes that when the time comes, his manager doesn’t get tempted.
Relayed by FR12, he said: “We hope he stays. We are doing very well and want more seasons like this. Everyone wants him to stay. He is one of the best managers I’ve ever seen. In football term, even the best. At the moment, he is the best in the Netherlands.”
Earlier on Monday, we covered claims from Dutch journalist Valentijn Driessen stating Slot could earn around €5m post tax at Tottenham should he decide to join, and that’s the kind of temptation his players fear.
In the end, it will be between Spurs, the manager and Feyenoord, who will have free rein to ask for as much as they want, as there is no clause in his contract.
