Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace contract expires at the end of the current season and staying or going is very much up in the air.

The manager has spoken multiple times about wanting to grow with the club. In repeat chats with the Austrian media, he’s talked down claims about Bayern Munich and other clubs. All the while, though, he’s made it clear he needs assurances about Crystal Palace growth.

Glasner wants the Eagles to match his ambitions, within reason. He recently spoke about a lack of summer transfer activity and how it couldn’t be rectified in January. That’s no great surprise, given he’d spoken in Austria during the summer about a lack of early business.

Despite those frustrations, Glasner isn’t ruling out extending his Crystal Palace contract. He has a clear love for the club, and pride regarding collective achievements so far.

Following the 2-1 victory over Fulham, which sees Crystal Palace fourth in the Premier League, the manager spoke to Sky Sports Austria.

Specifically about a renewal he said: “We’re always in discussions internally, but with the tight schedule, there’s hardly any time to think about it. I really don’t know when we’d be able to sit down at the moment. We definitely have this schedule until January 10th, then we’ll move into the final discussions.”

That certainly makes it sound like a renewal is very much on the agenda.
