Oli McBurnie’s Sheffield United contract expired at the end of June but there had been reports the Championship club could look to keep him around the place.
With clubs around Europe now getting into the serious part of their pre-season training, it’s decision time for free agents and McBurnie’s hasn’t gone the way of Sheffield United.
Canarias7 report he’s instead chosen to sign for UD Las Palmas and give La Liga a go. The 28-year-old will become a Las Palmas player in the coming hours, signing a three year contract with the Canary Island club.
According to the claims, McBurnie has rejected offers to triple his salary, from Turkey and Saudi Arabia, and is instead moving to Spanish football.
Canarias7 say the move wouldn’t have been possible without Las Palma’s good relationship with the Stellar Group agents.
Las Palmas finished 16th in La Liga last season, and McBurnie may be set for another relegation fight like he had at Sheffield United during the last campaign.
