Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been asked about possible signings in this transfer window and whether he would look to his former club Manchester United to recruit new players.

Since it was announced was taking over at Besiktas, the Super Lig side have been linked with a number of players.

Speaking to Asist Analiz, Solskjær was asked about bringing in players from Manchester United in this transfer window, with Marcus Rashford and Casemiro getting a mention in the questions.

The 51-year-old said it was natural he would be linked with players from the Premier League side due to his connections with them, but has insisted there’s been no contact.

“I’ve come from Manchester United, so there will be transfer news like this. Casemiro and Rashford are very good players, but I haven’t had any contact with them,” said the Besiktas boss.

Rashford has found himself at the centre of transfer speculation in recent weeks, with clubs including AC Milan looking into signing him. The situation has been rather quieter for Casemiro.

With Solskjær taking up his first managerial job since being sacked by Manchester United, these claims and the ones on the way are inevitable.

Solskjær would clearly prefer that wasn’t the case: “I enjoyed my time at Manchester United. That chapter is closed. I’m looking forward to working at Besiktas now. The Bilbao game will be tough, but we are ready.”
