Galatasaray have made contact to sign Fulham’s Carlos Vinícius, according to a late claim.
The winter market in Turkey is open until February 9th, allowing their clubs to make new signings even though the window in the UK closed on Thursday.
Ajansspor state the Istanbul club are looking for a striker and the Fulham player has emerged as a surprise candidate.
It’s claimed Galatasaray have made an ‘official offer’ to Marco Silva’s side. Their proposal is to sign the 28-year-old on a loan deal with an option to buy, but the report makes no mention of the fee for the purchase option.
A Spor journalist Emre Kaplan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share an additional update on the Turkish club’s pursuit of the Brazilian.
He explains that Galatasaray have made ‘important progress’ in this operation and the ‘negotiations continue’ to sign Vinícius before the window in Turkey closes next Friday.
The South American has made two league starts this season. On deadline day, Fulham signed Armando Broja from Chelsea and his arrival could see Vinícius drop further down the pecking order. This may convince Marco Silva’s side to accept Galatasaray’s offer.
