Around a month ago, a source confirmed to Sport Witness that Leicester City were acting on interest in Ricardo Pereira.

The Premier League club hadn’t made an offer at the time, but were trying to find out the parameters of a deal.

Pereira spent last summer being strongly linked to Tottenham, but Spurs signed Serge Aurier from PSG instead, a decision they may now be regretting.

Claims around Pereira have continued and on Thursday, Portuguese newspaper A Bola reported a deal agreed with Leicester at €20m plus €5m in bonuses.

On Saturday the same Portuguese newspaper carried images of Pereira at Porto airport, flying to England for his Leicester medical.

And now Porto have confirmed it. As O Jogo explain, Porto have to make their moves official to financial bodies in Portugal, and they’ve done that, confirming the €20m transfer to Leicester.

Porto have also said goodbye to Pereira on their Instagram account, again confirming he’s going to Leicester.
