Danish side FC Copenhagen have confirmed they’ve secured the services of Southampton scout Brian Fonseca. The Dane will now head the scouting network for FC Copenhagen, alongside Bjarne Hansen.
FC Copenhagen’s technical director Johan Lange has confirmed via the club’s website that Fonseca has been appointed. Lange said they are bringing is somebody with plenty of experience in different aspects of football, including heading Southampton’s scouting network in Scandinavia.
Lange believes the work he’s carried out whilst in England will help FC Copenhagen as Fonseca will be able to bring them his much needed experience from his role with Southampton.
“After a thorough recruitment process, we are very pleased to welcome Brian to FCK. Brian has a weighty professional football experience as both a coach and scout. In Brian’s recent work as a scout in Scandinavia for Southampton, he has gained experience in international football in the Scandinavian context, which is essential for us,” said Lange on the appointment of Fonseca.
Brian Fonseca has been at FC Copenhagen previously in a role as assistant coach of the reserve team. Fonseca was also a scout with FC Nordsjælland before he took up his role at Southampton.
