Beşiktaş are getting ready for the transfer of Tammy Abraham to Aston Villa, with the Turkish club announcing their purchase of the player on Monday afternoon.

As is the normal procedure for such a transfer in Turkey, the Super Lig side have released a statement to KAP. This is a legal financial step the club need to take before the transfer is considered complete.

The Monday statement from Beşiktaş reads as follows: ‘The following statement was sent to the Public Disclosure Platform by Beşiktaş Football Investments Industry and Trade Inc.:

“The terms of the transfer contract of professional football player Kevin Oghenetega Tamaraebi Bakumo-Abraham have been fulfilled. The provision for the player’s permanent transfer has come into effect. Accordingly, a transfer fee of 13,000,000 EUR will be paid to AS Roma SPA.”‘

Beşiktaş had initially loaned the player from AS Roma, with a €13m clause which turned into an obligation. They were due to exercise that at the end of the season. However, it’s been brought forward to allow the player’s sale to Aston Villa.

Now that’s happened, and been sent to KAP, it should be a short time until Aston Villa are able to announce the arrival of Tammy Abraham.

Aston Villa spent much of last week trying to negotiate a deal with Beşiktaş. Various formulas were put forward and it became clear a player could be involved in the move. Evann Guessand was the first name mentioned before his agents ruled that out.

The final agreement saw the Premier League side agree to pay €21m. In addition, Unai Emery’s side agreed to send Yasin Özcan in the opposite direction on a permanent transfer.

Tammy Abraham flew to England on Friday to start the process of becoming an Aston Villa player.
