On Tuesday, El Chiringuito’s Gonzalo Tortosa reported that Real Betis have agreed a deal with Southampton over signing Romain Perraud.
Wednesday’s edition of Marca says the La Liga side have only reached a verbal agreement with the Saints.
Real Betis have to send a written offer to Southampton to get this deal over the line and they are expected to take this step soon.
It’s claimed Manuel Pellegrini’s side will seal the deal for €3.5m, and offer a five-year deal to the left-back.
Southampton signed the Frenchman from Brest in 2021. They sent him out on loan to OGC Nice last season, and he clocked in over 500 minutes from 22 games for the Ligue 1 side. Marca say the Spanish club see the fullback as a market opportunity
AS state Real Betis agreed personal terms with the Southampton defender weeks ago.
The ‘official agreement in imminent’, likely with Russell Martin’s side. In short, barring any last-minute surprises, Perraud is expected to complete a permanent move to Real Betis and can enjoy the sunny climate of Seville.
