Chelsea are among the ‘top-class options’ available for Bayern Munich’s Benjamin Pavard, according to Sky Deutschland.
Operating as a centre-back and right-back this season, he has managed six goals and an assist from 31 matches.
He has been in fine form in recent weeks and it has led to claims the Bavarian club will offer him a new deal.
It has also not gone unnoticed at Chelsea and Barcelona, who have included the 26-year-old’s name ‘on the list’ of targets for this summer.
The France international’s deal expires in 2024 and Sky transfer expert Florian Plettenberg claims there are currently no talks between the player and Bayern over an extension.
In addition to this, there is also no quick agreement in sight for the renewal.
Therefore, Pavard could leave the Bundesliga winners in the summer, especially since he has top class options. As it stands, he could either leave after this season or sign a new contract at Bayern. The possibility of him leaving for free in 2024 is, however, impossible.
“Offers for Pavard are there, it’s a 50-50 number,” Plettenberg said about the versatile defender.
If Chelsea were to sign Pavard, he could be a long-term successor for César Azpilicueta, who can also operate as a right-back and in the heart of the defence.
