Globo Esporte report Botafogo have changed their minds about signing Vitinho from Burnley. Whereas their interest was initially to take the fullback on a loan basis, they’re now isntead looking at a permanent move.

According to the Brazilian news source, Botafogo have sent an offer to the Championship club. The details of that offer are being kept confidential for now, but there’s a very good chance they’ll leak out soon.

Internacional and Flamengo have also been credited with interest in the Burnley player and that could be why Botafogo are pushing for a permanent transfer, to try and distinguish themselves from the competition.

Globo Esporte believe Burnley intend to make things difficult. That’s not just over money but because they’re rather keep the player in their own squad.

According to the claims, manager Scott Parker is counting on the player and therefore isn’t keen on a sale.

The 25-year-old has a Burnley contract running until June 2027. He’s started both matches for the Clarets in the Championship so far, scoring a goal and contributing an assist, so doesn’t seem like someone they’d be eager to sell.
