The Turkish media today reveals Trabzonspor’s attempt to sign Marcelino Núñez from Norwich City.
According to Sporx, an offer has been made to sign the 24-year-old from the Canaries this summer.
Norwich City, however, requested a ‘high transfer fee’, and no deal has been found for now.
The outlet claims that Trabzonspor are now expected to carry on with the negotiations for the Chilean.
Since arriving at Norwich City in a €3.9m move from Universidad Católica in the summer of 2022, Núñez has been of use to the Canaries.
He has 81 appearances for the club so far, with 42 games played last season, and it’s actually no surprise that they’re being tough to negotiate his sale.
The midfielder is valued by Transfermarkt at €5m, and still has a contract with Norwich City running until 2026.
We’re now curious to see how much Trabzonspor put on the table to get him signed, but it seems clear that the Turkish side will need more to convince the Canaries to let the player go.
