AC Milan have had their first proposal turned down by Bologna for their young midfielder Amadou Diawara, according to claims in the Italian media. The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Aston Villa in the past week after an offer was made by the Championship club.
Yesterday AC Milan held talks with Bologna after becoming the latest club to join the race to sign Diawara. AC Milan are looking to re-build their squad this summer, and although they are keen to land Diawara their first offer has been rejected by Bologna.
The Serie A club have offered Bologna just €4m to take Diawara on loan for the season according to TMW, with a right of redemption of €8m. This was instantly turned down by Bologna given Napoli and Aston Villa have already tabled bids much higher than this.
Last week Aston Villa offered Bologna €17m for Diawara, but the issue for the English club is that the youngster would prefer to stay in Italy for the time being as he continues his development. Napoli have also come in with an offer of €15m, still less than Villa’s, so given what AC Milan’s proposal a move to Naples could be on the cards.
