Galatasaray have given up on Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote after the 30-year old failed his medical, according to Turkey’s NTV Spor.
As we reported earlier he had problems with his left lateral meniscus and his left leg is apparently weaker than his right leg.
Galatasaray’s medical team checked up Tiote once again, one hour ago, but he failed the second tests too. After the detailed reports, NTVSpor say Galatasaray told Tiote that they’re not going to sign him.

Tiote, who arrived in Istanbul yesterday, now faces having to leave Istanbul, where he arrived to a heroes welcome, and find a new club before Wednesday’s deadline.
Very publicly failing a medical with Galatasaray is not going to help the midfielder, and the player himself may wish to give his own version of events.
It’s not great that the details of the failure have been so widely and quickly leaked, and Tiote is no doubt a little disillusioned right now.
Whilst unusual, it’s not unheard of for clubs to find minor problems on medicals and turn them into major issues, with the hope of getting a lower fee or persuading the player to accept lower wages.
