At the weekend, we relayed news from Belgium that Chelsea have tabled an offer of €60m plus €5m in bonuses to sign Roméo Lavia. It was also stated the Blues want to anticipate a last-minute effort from Liverpool to hijack the deal for the Southampton player.
Liverpool are set for disappointment as the west London club are edging closer towards completing a deal for the 19-year-old.
That’s according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who states the Southampton midfielder and his camp are ‘now being formal’ that he’s ‘off to Chelsea’.
Tavolieri says the player has been in London since the weekend and celebrated his impending move to Chelsea with his friends. The Belgium international is ‘waiting for a final confirmation’, likely from the Saints, to complete a move to Stamford Bridge.
The Southampton player may not be the only midfielder to join Mauricio Pochettino’s side as various reports in the UK have stated they are also set to sign Brighton & Hove Albion star Moisés Caicedo.
🔵🇧🇪 Final announcement for Romeo Lavia incoming. Just waiting for a final confirmation but the player arrived in London this week-end & enjoyed a private moment with friends in order to celebrate his move. Player’s side now being formal on the fact he´s off to Chelsea.
