Despite all the rumours surrounding Aston Villa defender Clement Lenglet lately, it seems he may end up not going anywhere.
Catalan outlet Sport today feature a story about the Barcelona loanee, recalling that AC Milan recently made an approach for him.
The defender only has nine appearances for Aston Villa this season, and that had always been the reason why a January move was considered.
However, Sport claims that Unai Emery’s side actually see his stay until the end of the season ‘with good eyes’, as they don’t want to lose him right now.
Regarding Milan’s interest, it’s claimed that the ‘numbers don’t add up’, as they’d have a hard time covering his salary.
The same goes for the other clubs who asked about him, as none of them can pay his wages or compensate Aston Villa for his early exit.
So despite the controversy about his little playing time in England, he’s now expected to stay until next summer, when Barcelona are set to open new talks to find the 28-year-old a suitable destination.
