For the past week or so, reports from Spain have insisted Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is the priority target for Real Madrid in the summer.
Los Blancos will need a new No.9 after confirming Karim Benzema’s departure and Kane has been identified as the main target.
Monday’s Marca states the Tottenham star’s name has been discussed internally within the La Liga side recently.
The England international is the ‘favourite’ target for both Carlo Ancelotti and the club’s sporting leaders. They believe he’ll still be an elite player for the next three to four years.
Daniel Levy wasn’t in favour of the 29-year-old’s sale in the past. The Tottenham chief has reportedly changed his stance as the article states he ‘seems willing to reach an agreement’, as long as it’s not with an English club.
That’s because the frontman’s contract expires in 2024 and Levy knows his sale is ‘now or never’.
Ancelotti’s side have already made ‘first contacts’ with Kane’s entourage and also with Spurs.
There have been reports that Kane wants to continue in the Premier League, but Marca say that isn’t the case since he’s motivated to wear the Real Madrid shirt.
Kane is the preferred striker to replace Benzema. With Levy willing to agree a deal for his sale, there’s a possibility Real Madrid could bring the player to the Bernabéu in the next window, as long as they agree a deal with Tottenham.
