The European media today brings some updates on the situation of Renan Lodi, who’s loaned by Atletico Madrid to Nottingham Forest until the end of the season.
According to Italian journalist Matteo Moretto, despite the end of the spell, there’s a 99% chance the player will not return to the La Liga side this summer.
Lodi may have a contract with Atletico Madrid lasting until 2026 and the club may be in need of a left-back, but with Diego Simeone in charge, there’s no room for the Brazilian in the squad.
Regarding Nottingham Forest, Moretto comes up with ‘exclusive’ news claiming the €30m buying option the Reds had over the player has now expired. So if they decide to keep him, they’d need to open negotiations with the Spanish club.
The story says there’s no lack of offers for Lodi, both from the Premier League and other European sides. But it’s not really made clear whether the Tricky Trees will make a move to keep him.
Renan Lodi made 31 appearances for Nottingham Forest this season. Despite a slow start, he ended up having a solid sequence in the final stretch of the Premier League.
