Nottingham Forest remain in the battle to sign Pablo Maia from São Paulo, according to reports from the Brazilian media.
The latest updates on this chase come from journalist Alexsander, who claims the Reds are ‘interested’ in the player and ‘willing to pay’ something close to the €10m demanded by the Tricolor.
But Nottingham Forest may not take him to the Premier League immediately, as it’s said there’s the possibility São Paulo could sell him in January and keep him until the summer.
It’s also highlighted that the Tricky Trees are not alone in the race, since Fulham ‘are also in the fight’ for the midfielder.
Indeed, the Whites’ pursuit for Maia is the one getting the most attention from the Brazilian media. Last week, it had already been reported they placed a €7.5m bid for his transfer, and today, it was claimed a second attempt was already made.
So if Nottingham Forest want to win this race, they must place a better bid on the table. It also seems that delaying his arrival until the summer is something that would help to reach an agreement with São Paulo.
