Nottingham Forest have set their sights on Getafe goalkeeper David Soria as they look for a new number one this summer.
That’s according to Marca, who say Steve Cooper and co. are willing to offer €5-6m for the Spanish goalkeeper.
The newspaper explains that Nottingham Forest are looking for a replacement for Keylor Navas and Dean Henderson, who were both first-choice last season but have returned to their parent clubs following the end of their respective loan deals.
They’ve now turned their attention to Soria, who has been with Getafe since a €3m move from Sevilla in July 2018 making 185 appearances and keeping 68 clean sheets in that time.
Last season he managed 14 clean sheets in 39 games in all competitions and that has seemingly convinced Nottingham Forest on a potential move.
They’re willing to offer Getafe €5-6m to make a transfer happen, but Getafe’s idea is ‘to reach €10m’ if the goalkeeper is to leave this summer.
They consider Soria as a key player and one of the mainstays of José Bordalás’s plans and so want to secure a good fee if they are to sell him.
They have already signed a goalkeeper this summer in the form of Daniel Fuzato, who joined on loan from Ibiza as backup to Soria, so are covered in that regard but could move for Crystal Palace’s Vincente Guaita if they do sell.
That remains to be seen, with Nottingham Forest currently a few million short of the price the Spanish side want for Soria this summer.
