As we may now be reaching the end of the Gustavo Scarpa saga, Nottingham Forest reportedly accepted Atlético Mineiro’s offer for the midfielder.
UOL journalist Bruno Andrade says the Tricky Trees ‘have accepted’ a €5.5m bid and that would be for 100% of the player’s rights, meaning they would have no percentage of a future sale.
Nottingham Forest had Scarpa loaned at Olympiakos until the end of the season, but according to the report, the Greek side ‘didn’t put any obstacles’ to let him go now.
The midfielder is then set to sign a four-year contract with Atletico Mineiro, who have been chasing him for months now.
Nottingham Forest signed Gustavo Scarpa as a free agent back in January. Due to injuries and personal problems, he only made ten appearances for the Tricky Trees, and couldn’t convince the club he deserved to be in the squad for the season.
That’s why he ended up getting sent to Olympialos, who didn’t make much use of him either, as he only had 420 minutes in 11 appearances this season.
Now it’s time for him to go back to Brazil and try to recover his good football.
