Nottingham Forest and Watford both shared a scouting mission on Tuesday evening.
That’s today reported by Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who says the Tricky Trees and the Hornets had officials at the Champions League clash between Porto and Inter Milan.
With the game ending 0-0, the Dragons couldn’t get the qualification for the quarter-finals, as they had lost 1-0 in Italy in the first leg.
But despite the difficulty to getting past Inter Milan’s blockade, Porto still had a fairly good performance, so Nottingham Forest and Watford may have had some positive displays to check from close.
A Bola doesn’t say if the English clubs had specific targets on the pitch, so it’s likely they were both open to see what could make them impressed there.
On Porto’s side, those who stood out were Fábio Cardoso, Ivan Marcano and especially Marko Grujic.
They all worked well to make the Nerazzurri harmless and let Porto control most of the game. On the visitors’ side, it was goalkeeper André Onana who was highly praised for keeping the clean sheet and taking his side to the quarter-finals.
With the summer window now approaching, we shall now wait and see if Nottingham Forest and Watford will have any Porto targets, as the chase may have started last night.
