Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo may have praised Divock Origi for his performance at the weekend, but it seems that doesn’t raise the chances of the striker saying at the club.
Belgian outlet DH today features a story on the 28-year-old’s future, and insists it’s actually ‘unlikely’ that he’ll be at City Ground for the next season, as he’s currently loaned by AC Milan.
It’s pointed out that Origi is playing more for Nottingham Forest these days because of Chris Wood’s injury, but that return may only be ‘temporary’, as his future remains uncertain.
DH recalls that three MLS clubs tried his signing in January, with Los Angeles FC said to be in pole position. The North American transfer window is still open, so that remains a possibility.
Milan, his parent club, are said to be hopeful that someone will buy him soon, and given his situation at Nottingham Forest, they better try and find some alternative options for him, as his contract there runs until 2026.
Since arriving at Nottingham Forest, Origi has one goal and one assist in 13 appearances.
