It seems Gustavo Scarpa and Danilo weren’t the only Palmeiras players who Nottingham Forest tried to sign in the winter market.
According to ESPN Brasil, the Reds also made an attempt to land Giovani.
It’s claimed that in January, Nottingham Forest tried to sign the 19-year-old on a loan deal, looking for a potential bid in the summer.
But neither Palmeiras nor Giovani’s staff liked that kind of offer, and the talks did not advance.
Now ESPN Brasil says other Premier League clubs are interested in the youngster, following the good start he had with his club this season, but this time, Nottingham Forest are not mentioned, and it doesn’t look like their pursuit of the player is still on.
In case the Reds do come back for Giovani, they better know that Palmeiras are looking to make at least €15m with his sale.
Nottingham Forest had already spent €20m to sign Danilo from Palmeiras in January.
By then, they had already agreed a deal with Gustavo Scarpa, who had been a free agent following the end of his contract with the same Brazilian club in December.
