Gonzalo Montiel’s move to Nottingham Forest is yet to be completed despite the Spanish side being keen to get it over the line.
That’s according to Diario de Sevilla, who say the Argentine will join Nottingham Forest on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase clause included.
Montiel has been linked with a move away from Sevilla this summer after falling down the pecking order under manager Jose Luis Mendilibar.
He wants to leave to secure regular playing time elsewhere and Sevilla are happy to let him depart to release funds in the wage budget and let them continue their summer rebuild.
Nottingham Forest have shown the most interest and several reports have them closing in on a deal, with it reported three days ago that a deal had been done and he was flying to England on Monday.
That report stated that Forest would be paying €11m for a permanent transfer but Diario dispute this and say Montiel will actually be joining on loan.
According to them he will join Steve Cooper’s side on a season-long loan deal that includes a mandatory purchase clause of €10-11m at the end of it.
So far, the agreement ‘has not yet been completed’ but both sides are working on it, with the broader idea of a loan with mandatory purchase seemingly agreed.
