The potential deal taking Real Betis defender Luiz Felipe to Nottingham Forest is currently ‘on hold’ after their initial offer was deemed too low.
That’s according to TuttoMercatoWeb, who say Nottingham Forest are yet to return and push through a deal after an initial €7.5m offer was ‘deemed too low’ by the Spanish side.
They rejected the proposal outright but were seemingly expecting Forest to come back with an improved bid for the Brazilian after.
That is yet to happen and the potential transfer is now considered ‘on hold’, with Betis waiting to see if Nottingham Forest return or turn their attention elsewhere.
The potential transfer is being closely monitored by more than Betis, with Fiorentina also keen to keep abreast of the matter as if the defender doesn’t leave Betis, they won’t make a move for Fiorentina’s Lucas Martinez Quarta to replace him.
In other words, Nottingham Forest’s rejected bid for Luiz Felipe is affecting that deal and until there is any potential movement there won’t be any around Quarta either.
This comes after West Ham pulled out of a potential transfer for the centre-back as well, leaving Real Betis with little option but keep the defender for the time being.
