As Italian outlet Area Napoli today shares the latest updates on the chase for Corinthians youngster Wesley, they speak about the competition from English clubs for the signing.
It’s made very clear that the Serie A side are not alone in the race, as the likes of Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United all want the winger as well.
The story claims that Napoli boss Antonio Conte had a meeting with Wesley’s agent. A personal agreement was already found, but there’s now the need of a deal with Corinthians.
The Brazilian club are said to be demanding €30m, while the Serie A side only get to €20m, including bonuses.
It’s then recalled that Nottingham Forest tried with €25m, and Corinthians wanted to keep 50% of a future transfer. West Ham did not go beyond €20m, while Tottenham could place their offer in July.
Napoli, knowing that the English clubs are far from an agreement, are set to continuetalks with the agents.
It remains to be seen whether Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and West Ham will still try. The Hammers, after signing Luis Guilherme, seem like a very unlikely option.
