Nottingham Forest are interested in a deal for FC Porto midfielder Marko Grujic ahead of tonight’s transfer deadline.
That’s according to O Jogo, who say Nottingham Forest are one of three clubs showing an interest in the Serbian midfielder today.
The newspaper reports that Forest, as well as Celta Vigo and Lyon, are ‘targeting’ Grujic and are planning to ‘advance’ potential negotiations today.
They report that any potential operation for the midfielder should prove to be a ‘complicated’ one as the player is a part of manager Sérgio Conceição’s plans, and the Portuguese club don’t have any time to source a replacement.
Their interest from the three clubs is there, though, and Celta Vigo have even made a verbal offer to Porto, but this fell short of the valuation put on Grujic by Porto.
Nottingham Forest and Lyon, meanwhile, have only ‘carried out surveys’ at this moment in time and nothing beyond that point.
Forest’s interest is slightly surprising given they continue to push hard for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Ibrahim Sangare, and he seemingly remains their number one target to bolster their midfield.
Perhaps Grujic is the alternative to him if that deal doesn’t go through, with it made clear in the Netherlands that Sangare’s potential move is getting closer.
