Since last summer, Nottingham Forest have been linked to São Paulo midfielder Pablo Maia.
The 21-year-old is clearly on the rise at the Brazilian club, so there had been reports that he could move for €6m, €10m, and, more recently, €12m.
It turns out that as UOL journalist André Hernan now shares some news on Maia’s future, there is some bad news for Nottingham Forest and any other clubs who want him.
São Paulo have decided not to sell Maia this summer and they want to delay a potential negotiation for future transfer windows, as they know his valuation is only going up.
To convince the club to let him go now, an offer of at least €20m would have to be delivered to the Tricolor’s offices.
Maia has been proving to be in good form, and we wonder if Nottingham Forest now regret not having moved for him earlier. Not only because his price has been going up, but also because the competition for his transfer is only set to grow. São Paulo know that, and won’t be in a hurry to sell.
