Even though the Brazilian media continues bringing updates on the talks between Flamengo and Santos for the transfer of Angelo, we continue to see Nottingham Forest mentioned in those stories.
The Tricky Trees made an attempt to sign the youngster in the January transfer window, and since it would still make sense for him to move to Europe, this possibility continues showing up.
Today it’s Globo Esporte who talks about that. They claim there’s an ‘understanding’ in the player’s staff that the ‘best way’ for him would be a move out of Brazil.
It’s then claimed that Angelo’s desire is to recover his good football at Santos and then ‘try to be sold to Europe’.
Just yesterday, we had already seen the differences between the offers that the club received for Angelo.
Journalist Lucas Musetti said Nottingham Forest wanted the player on a loan with an obligation to buy in case they escaped relegation, and would then pay €19m for 100% of Angelo’s rights.
Flamengo are now offering €12m and would give 50% of a future move.
Santos believe in the player’s potential, and that’s why they turned down the Reds’ effort and still negotiate with Flamengo, but maybe there’s still time for the Tricky Trees to try a new bid and secure his services for the summer, as they continue to edge away from the relegation zone.
