Back on Monday, reports from the Brazilian media claimed Gustavo Scarpa is leaving Nottingham Forest.
It was said by ESPN Brasil that after judging the player during pre-season, the Reds decided not to keep him in the squad, and would start negotiating his future with other clubs.
Now as Goal Brasil feature a story on the situation, they come up to say that Nottingham Forest already found Scarpa a new destination.
The midfielder is set to join Olympiacos, who have the same owners as the Reds. It’s said the talks are ‘advanced’ for his loan there.
ESPN writes that Scarpa wanted to stay at Nottingham Forest, but following the club’s decision, what he actually ruled out was a move back to Brazil. He wants to continue in Europe, regardless if he has to move to Greece.
Despite being used in pre-season, the midfielder wasn’t even taken to the opening Premier League fixture against Arsenal at the weekend.
Scarpa’s contract with Nottingham Forest runs until 2026, so perhaps there could still be a new chance to prove himself at the club in the future.
