Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Nottingham Forest were rather pessimistic about their chances of signing Keylor Navas from Paris Saint-Germain.
There was then a claim that should that fail, they could turn their attention to the French club’s third string goalkeeper, Sergio Rico.
Well, they haven’t resorted to that last part just yet, with the latest update from France claiming that Nottingham Forest are still pushing to get a deal for Navas over the line.
It comes from RMC Sport, who report that this could be a deal that goes on until the very last minutes of the transfer window.
They explain that while Navas has ‘agreed to join’ Nottingham Forest, he won’t do so ‘under just any conditions’.
Whether it be a loan or a full transfer, it’s made clear the Costa Rica international ‘wants to find himself financially’ in the deal, and talks to that regard are ‘still underway’, with the player ‘at the ready’ in case anything does happen.
Still, as reported this morning, it remains a ‘complex’ operation, and that’s why it’s taking so long.
