So far this season, Nottingham Forest are reaping the benefits of signing Nikola Milenkovic last summer from Fiorentina for a fee of just £12m.
It now seems as if the Tricky Trees see Italy as a viable market and are looking at another player who is impressing in Serie A and may be available relatively cheaply.
TuttoSport today reveal that the player in question is Udinese’s Lorenzo Lucca, who has scored ten Serie A goals this season and also made his debut for the Italian national team back in October.
The outlet describes the 6’7“ striker as ‘the giant from Moncalieri’, stating that AC Milan see him as a potential summer target, but there is strong competition from Nottingham Forest. Napoli are also an interested party.
The 24-year-old was sounded out by the Rossoneri in January and while a move didn’t go through, he’s a huge fan of club advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He would not refuse a call from the Swede, but the feeling is that Milan will find it difficult to sign Lucca and have already identified Lecce’s Nikola Krstovic as an alternative.
As of now, a fee of €25m will be enough for Nottingham Forest to land Lucca, who has acquired a reputation for getting at the end of crosses and showing impressive hold-up skills to link up play with fellow attackers.
