There’s a claim in the Turkish media that Nottingham Forest watched January target Baris Alper Yilmaz during Galatasaray’s clash with Fenerbahce at the weekend.

The 24-year-old has been linked with aa move to the City ground ahead of the next transfer window, following the Premier League side’s interest in the player this summer.

Sabah have reported on the latest developments regarding Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of the Turkey international and they say the English club sent scouts to get a further lowdown on the winger.

Yilmaz started the game and helped Galatasaray to a 3-1 away victory over their local rivals. He was substituted in the 83rd minute with the game already won.

Only last week, we covered reports from the Turkish press that Forest have an outline agreement to sign Yilmaz in the new year after failing to sign him during the last window. Gala are looking to cash in on the attacker and are looking for €20m plus for him.

He started 28 Super Lig games last season, scoring seven goals. The player has kicked on this season and has already scored four goals in six Super Lig games.

Yılmaz is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2027.
