On June 28th, El Chiringuito reported RCD Mallorca’s Pablo Maffeo has agreed personal terms with Nottingham Forest. Two days later, we covered claims from Spain that the La Liga club want €10m to sanction a move this summer.
It’s been over two weeks, and the Premier League side haven’t managed to sign the right-back so far.
Marca now provide the latest on Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of the 28-year-old.
The Spanish club want to get rid of the fullback in this window even though his contract lasts until 2027. This would please the Reds, who are keen on securing his services.
It’s claimed the English club have resumed talks with Mallorca in the last few hours and both clubs are willing to reach an agreement, although there’s nothing imminent.
Mallorca, who had earlier requested €10m, would be willing to accept around €8m. The report adds they would even accept a lower figure depending on the transfer formula.
The defender is ‘confident’ Nottingham Forest will reach an agreement with Mallorca, and is negotiating his personal terms.
Maffeo and Mallorca want to part ways with each other and the Premier League club are keen on signing him. The newspaper says he seems destined to join Nottingham Forest but needs to be patient.
